The U.S. Mission in Vietnam seeks qualified candidates for the 2025 Fulbright Vietnamese Student Program, which provides fully-funded scholarships for individuals to study for Master’s degrees in the United States. Diverse candidates from across Vietnam pursuing a wide range of fields of study are welcome to apply.  As part of the commitment the United States make to support Vietnam’s goal of training of a high-tech workforce, the Fulbright program especially welcomes applications from candidates in science and technology related fields of study.

ELIGIBILITY  

  • Be a Vietnamese citizen (no dual citizenship with any other country; applicants must reside in Vietnam throughout the application and selection process)
  • Have at least one undergraduate degree. (For applicants in engineering and physical sciences only, the field of undergraduate degree must correspond with or relate to the proposed field of study for the Master’s degree)
  • Have at least two years of work experience after graduation from an undergraduate degree program by the time of the application submission deadline
  • Have a valid minimum TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5 or Duolingo 110 or TOEFL Essentials 8.5 (the test must be taken after April 1, 2022)


INELIGIBILITY FACTORS

The following persons are ineligible to apply for the Fulbright Vietnamese Student Program:

  • Candidates who already received one Fulbright Student Program grant.
  • Candidates who are currently living or studying in the United States and overseas.
  • Candidates who have earned a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a U.S. college or university within the last three years.
  • Local employees of the U.S. Mission in Vietnam who work for the U.S. Department of State and their immediate dependents are ineligible for grants during the period of their employment and for one year following the termination of employment.
  • Candidates who have received any fully-funded scholarship for graduate study abroad within the past five years regardless of source of funding.

Job Description 

  • Assist in building ML models for our products.  
  • Assist in extending and improving existing ML models.  
  • Work alongside data engineers to create data and model pipelines and embed AI and analytics into the business decision processes.  
  • Integrate ML models to end-users and run experiments.  
  • Run tests, perform statistical analysis, interpret test results, and perform tuning and scaling.  

Required skills: 

  • Study in computer science, mathematics or comparable.   
  • Knowledge of theoretical and applied statistics and machine learning.   
  • Knowledge of building and training ML, AI models.   
  • Able to work with Tensorflow, PyTorch.   
  • Knowledge in building data science models and programming with Python and SQL.   

  Good to have:   

  • Knowledge with MLOps to build production ready pipelines.   
  • Knowledge with Docker container   
  • Knowledge of Azure AI.   
  • Understanding of distributed systems, CI/CD, and container technologies.

About the scholarship program

Marvell Scholarship Program for Vietnam offers scholarships to undergraduate engineering students. 

30 scholarships will be offered.

  • Category 1: 10 scholarships – Each $2000/48,000,000 VND
  • Category 2: 20 scholarships – Each $500/12,000,000 VND

Eligible Universities: 

  • HCMC University of Technology
  • HCMC University of Science
  • Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology
  • HCMC University of Information Technology
  • HCMC University of Technology and Education
  • Danang University of Science and Technology
  • Hanoi University of Science and Technology

  • Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering
  • Telecommunications Engineering

What we offer

  • Scholarships amount will be paid in 2 equal instalments - 30 days after the selection process finishes, and 6 months after the 1st payment.  
  • Scholarship winners will be invited to an open house event with their friends and/or family, up to 5 excluding the students themselves.

Application and Selection Process:

Students apply via Marvell scholarship application platform by submitting the following documents

  1. 1-page CV in English
  2. Most recent college transcript
  3. At least 1 reference/recommendation letter from a professor
  4. 1 copy of ID card
  5. A cover letter describing the understanding & practice of one of Marvell’s Core Behaviors, and a career plan in semiconductor industry in Vietnam, in either English or Vietnamese.
  6. For student under hardship please provide: a local authority to confirm home family income of less than 50,000,000 VND/ year, a notarized copy of the poor household record or parentless; or certifications awarded for your excellent performance in university extracurricular activities or engineering-related research/ achievements.

Selection Process 

The applicants who pass the first screening will be invited to a group panel interview. 

In the group panel interview, students shall give a 10-minute presentation on their knowledge, and understanding of the Vietnam semiconductor industry followed by a 20-minute Q&A.
