A delegation from the Singapore University of Management will visit our faculty on 14/6/2013.
Besides The SMU School of Information Systems (SIS) (http://sis.smu.edu.sg/) and Living Analytics Research Centre (LARC) (http://smu.edu.sg/centres/larc/ ); LiveLabs Urban Lifestyle Innovation Platform (LiveLabs) (http://livelabs.smu.edu.sg/ ), is a newly launched Research Centre in SIS, SMU. LiveLabs innovates in the areas of mobile computing, smartphone-based rich context sensing and real-time behavioural analytics capabilities via collaborative research with multinational technology giants. LiveLabs provides an excellent environment for studying, doing research as well as working with developing application for solving real-life practical problem.
For the visit, SMU delegation will have A/Prof Rajesh Krishna BALAN (LiveLabs’s Director), A/Prof LEE Youngki (SIS’s Faculty), and LUONG Trung Tuan (LiveLabs’s post-doc).
Proposed schedule:
· Meeting with HCMUS’s faculty member: we would like to meet with faculty member of FIT and Math and Computer Science, to share about research projects, research interest as well as future development of LiveLabs, LARC, SIS, we hope to attract more collaboration from HCMUS. We also want to know more about research works in FIT as well as in FMCS.
· SMU seminar: 30-minute talk to introduce about the studying as well as working environment in LiveLabs/LARC/SIS in particular or SMU in general.
· PhD recruitment: we would like to ask your help for recommending excellent students who are interesting in pursuing further studying in SMU. We will administer a SMU’s test which are GRE-equivalent test. The test details are: (1) 130 minutes test including 5 minute break (2) multiple choices for quantitative and verbal sections ( similar format in GRE test) (3) no analytical writing section. Please let the students know about the test so that they are well prepared for it. We may conduct an informal short-interview with the applicants.
· Job recruitment: we also want to recruit for the following job positions:
o Research engineering: fresh graduate with strong skills in mobile system development, data mining and machine learning.
o Post-doc: must have completed all requirements for the PhD degree, lots of research experience
