Tóm tắt: Convex optimization problems with additive penalty terms arise in numerous applications, including Signal Processing and Machine Learning. A key factor underlying their success is their ability to promote solutions with a desired structure, such as sparsity. This talk will delve into the fundamental concepts behind "safe screening", an acceleration technique for sparsity-promoting optimization problems. Specifically, safe screening involves designing tests to detect zero entries in the solution of the problem. We will then present the latest contributions in this field and discuss future perspectives.
Giới thiệu về báo cáo viên: Tiến sĩ Clément Elvira hiện đang là trợ lý giáo sư (Maître de Conférences) tại trường Centrale Supélec, Rennes, Pháp. Ông nhận bằng tiến sĩ tại CRIStAL (Research Center in Computer Science, Signal and Automatic Control), Đại học Lille năm 2017, và sau đó làm nghiên cứu sau tiến sĩ (postdoctoral researcher) tại INRIA Rennes - Bretagne và IRISA, Đại học Bretagne Sud. Lĩnh vực nghiên cứu của TS. Clément Elvira là về signal processing and machine learning, convex optimization, dictionary leanring, sparse representations.
